Back again with another look at Diamond Dynasty cards I would love to see added to MLB The Show 17. As always, if you missed the first three parts, you can check out the AL East, Central and West. Atlanta Braves - Javy Lopez (2003) Name a catcher that has had more homers in a season that Lopez did in '03...you can't, because such a player doesn't exist. Lopez smacked 43 bombs and added 109 RBI's and a .328 batting average to his historic season. With the lack of great catchers in MLB The Show, Lopez would be a welcomed addition to some of the upper tier teams Miami Marlins - Postseason Josh Beckett (2003) Alright, I really wanted to go with a Rookie Jose Fernandez here but didn't for the same reason I didn't pick Yordano Ventura, I just don't think its in good taste. So, I went with playoff stud Josh Beckett. Beckett led the Marlins to the World Series title in 2003. Josh posted a 1.10 ERA and 19 K's in the series, including a 5-hit shutout in the clinching Game 6, on his way to MVP honors. New York Mets - Darryl Strawberry (1988) The Mets were a tough team to pick, they have so many greats who aren't represented in the game, but after some consideration, I settled on Strawberry. In 1988, Straw led the NL in Homers (39), Slugging Percentage (.545) and OPS (.911). While Darryl wasn't a huge batting average threat, the power is there and is very real. HIs 2nd place finish in the '88 NL MVP voting was one of his four Top 10 MVP finishes. Philadelphia Phillies - Postseason Roy Halladay (2010) I'm not even going to lie here, this is a total Blue Jays Homer pick. In 2010, Halladay became just the second pitcher in Major League history to throw a no-hitter in the playoffs. Even though the Phillies didn't win the NLCS, Halladay capped off an amazing 2010 (a year which also saw him throw a perfect game), by making history. If that doesn't deserve a card, nothing does. Washington Nationals - Tim Raines (1983) So many Expos, but Raines is an easy choice given his recent selection for induction to the Hall of Fame. In 1983, Raines had 133 runs, 32 doubles, 8 triples, 11 homers, 71 RBI's, 90 stolen bases, a plus-27 BB/K ratio, hit .298 and OPS'd .822. He also led the NL with 21 outfield assists, TWENTY ONE! What a great all-around card this would be. Well, that's four divisions down and two more to go. Check back next time when I dive into the NL Central and look at more cards I would love to see in Diamond Dynasty!
