Well well....look at what we have here. I've been wanting to get back into writing for a while and finally decided to put this wonderful website to work and get things moving!
You may or may not have noticed on my Twitter recently that I posted an image or a blank notebook page with the heading "Plan to Become a Twitch Partner". I have been enjoying streaming more and more lately and feel like I really wanted to set a goal for myself or becoming a Partner (what can I say, I like checkmarks, coughTwittercough). I'm being very realistic about the situation. I am well aware that the chances of it happening are small, that it's going to take a lot of hard word and consistency, but at the same time, I believe it is achievable. I have had a few people reach out to me on Twitter asking what they can do to help. The quick answer is: exactly what you already have been doing to support me. But I will gladly elaborate in this post on some things that you can do as a dedicated Snagoholic to help US achieve this goal (and I say us because this is a partnership, a community and we will get to this goal together) I want to preface this with the following: NONE of this is mandatory. I appreciate any and all support I get, and will continue to appreciate said support no matter what. But, if you are interested in doing whatever it takes to get us to the finish line, here are a few tips 1. Always have the stream open when I'm live. The hardest part of the partnership requirements is the 75 average viewers over a 30-day span. Now, I know it might not always be possible to watch a stream, but if you see I'm live, opening the stream in a tab, and then muting said tab (by right clicking on the tab itself and selecting Mute Tab, DO NOT mute the stream, it won't count as a viewer). This step will go a long way towards adding a viewer to the stream and moving us up the game directories to get more exposure. You should probably turn stream notifications on to, but again, purely optional. 2. RT'ing the stream As always, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. I will be setting up a command on the stream (in the form of a link) that you will be able to click on and it will tweet out the stream on your account. Even if you bring one additional viewer to the stream, that's one person closer we are to the goal. 3. Be Active In Chat Remember, these are totally optional. I would never force or ask someone who prefers to lurk to do anything other than that. But, if you are typically active in chat, continue to do so. It will make new people to the stream feel welcome, give them a way into the conversation and increase the likelihood of them returning to future streams. 4. Keep Being Awesome I love my community. I've already gotten way more out of this journey than I ever expected to get, so anything that happens from here on out is gravy. This is all just the point of continuing to work hard and provide quality entertainment. Nothing is going to change in how we do things. I will still provide a positive, inclusive and fun community where everyone is welcome and you will continue to be a part of is as long as you want to. No checkmark is worth giving up what we have built so far, but....think of all the cool emotes we could have (paging CG) Keep being #TooSweet SnaggleJ
